THE ACADEMY FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS (MAURITIUS)
START-UP CHALLENGE 2021
The AWE Start-Up Challenge is an initiative driven by the AMFCE (Association
Mauricienne des Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises), in collaboration with the US-Embassy,
towards the implementation of the U.S. State Department’s “Academy of Women
Entrepreneurs” (AWE) program in Mauritius.
Initiated in June 2021, the AWE Start-Up Challenge includes a mentoring / handholding
program, involving aspiring entrepreneurs as participants and established entrepreneurs as
hand-holders. The goal is to enable the start-ups to successfully take the leap! On-line
training will be provided by the AWE, and simultaneously, workshops will be held to
contextualize the on-line trainings. Hand-holders will also be working hand-in-hand with the
entrepreneurs to help them establish their business and develop their products.
